17/20 Enhancing Transformation and Surrounding Businesses: Operating Profit Ratio 5% Higher than Existing Businesses

Next is the strengthening of surrounding businesses. As I also explained on April 14, we have focused on commercial and industrial printing in order to ensure an improvement in the profit ratio. While digital marketing was originally pursued as a marketing print service, we have shifted from pursuing revenue to pursuing a high profit ratio by specializing in digital marketing, which has higher added value and a high profit ratio. In performance materials, new materials, and new high-functional films, we will also work to ensure that there are high earnings for next-generation films. Another surrounding business is automated visual surface inspections in the measuring instruments field. In the Healthcare Business, we will also pursue efforts from FY2017 without waiting for FY2018 or FY2019, so that next-generation X-ray diagnostic devices and kinetic analytics lead to improvements in our profit ratio.
