The deteriorating macro-economic conditions and the impact of large-scale disasters made it extremely difficult to steer the Konica Minolta Group in the fiscal year ended in March 2012, but sales were strong for the Business Technologies Business and TAC films for LCD polarizers (hereinafter referred to as "TAC films") in the Optics Business. As a result, operating income surpassed both the previous fiscal year's level and earnings forecasts.
