This slide provides an explanation of the sales of core products during the first quarter of the fiscal year ending in March 2013.
In the office segment, sales of digital color production printing systems and monochrome printing systems grew by approximately 10%, in line with sales plans. Growth was particularly strong in the US.
In the production print segment, sales growth was solid in Europe. Although sales volumes were down year on year for Japan and the US, sales volumes of the high-end bizhub PRESS C8000 were up year on year for both regions. This shift to a product lineup with high unit prices resulted in a year-on-year increase in sales on a monetary basis.
In non-hardware sales, growth of 3% year on year on a local currency basis was maintained for Business Technologies Business overall due to the contribution made by the growth in the production print segment.
