While monochrome systems achieved favorable sales, in accordance with plans, due to the launch of the new product, sales of color systems were somewhat short of plans. In Japan, there was much growth due in part to the positive effects of the acquisition of FedEx Kinko's Japan this year. Although business sentiment was down in Europe, sales were solid due to positive results in western and eastern European countries where Konica Minolta has strong sales foundations.
