This slide shows the worldwide growth of net sales by region in the Business Technologies Business.
In Japan, in the April-June quarter, net sales fell 1.1% year on year due to a slight impact from the consumption tax hike. After recovering in the second quarter, they fell again, by 2.4% in the third quarter. In North America, net sales were stronger than expected. In Europe, we made an acquisition in fiscal 2012, which, if we exclude its effect of increased sales, then last year's net sales were up 5% in the first quarter, 6% in the second quarter, and 3% in the third quarter. While net sales in last year's fourth quarter were up 3%, in the current fiscal year, they were up 3.2%, 3.8%, and 4.2%, respectively. This means that we are on a recovery trend in Europe. Economic conditions are challenging, but our net sales are progressing according to plan.
In China, the model for emerging markets contributed to the sales growth. In the future, with this new color product, we will expand sales in countries with growing economies, other than China.
