In the Healthcare Business, phase 1 involves steady commercialization of diagnostic ultrasound systems up to FY2016. It also entails establishing a range of medical IT services geared toward providing greater added value in terms of modality, thereby developing new modality solutionsfor achieving more sophisticated diagnostics ahead of phase 2, and pursuing other solutions focused on regional partnerships, comprehensive medical systems and at-home medical needs.
Phase 1 with respect to optical systems for industrial use essentially involves expansion in the field of measuring instruments. We will fully expand in fields of business involving value-added inspections for industry drawing on our technologies in the broad domain of spectroscopy ranging from light-source color measurement and object color measurement, which involves gauging color, irregularities and lighting. In the business of optical systems, phase 1 involves shaping new-generation automotive optical systems, and phase 2 involves further development of such systems.
Moreover, phase 2 involves digital manufacturing, as shown on the slide. We have opened a new office equipment factory in the Malacca region of Malaysia. We are automating the facility and will turn it into an innovative factory that performs a new style of digital manufacturing whereby it is possible to operate without having to incur costs for personnel. On that basis, we will also channel investment toward measurement technologies, optical technologies and 3D printing technologies that are now in the R&D phase, and will expand efforts in phase 2 with respect to wide-ranging solutions for industry entailing the Company's own practices in the realm of digital manufacturing.
In the performance materials field, phase 1 involves establishing operations for new functional films for displays on the basis of our TAC films, followed by phase 2, which involves developing other applications for new functional films. We will also steadily pursue commercial opportunities with OLED lighting. Our efforts will also extend to strengthening the materials business so that it becomes a key pillar of our operations.
