First, sales of TAC films during the third quarter increased 45% year on year, supported by strong sales of our core TAC films with a thickness of 40μm and 60μm. Even compared to the solid performance in the second quarter, growth was strong at 7%, exceeding projections. This suggests that the sales outlook for the second half announced at the previous results briefing was perhaps slightly conservative.

Sales volumes also grew considerably for replacement lenses for DSLR cameras.

Sales also grew steadily for light meters as a result of the large orders that have been acquired from major smartphone and tablet manufacturers since last year.

Meanwhile, adjustments in glass substrates for HDDs have continued on since the second quarter, and sales decreased drastically in the third quarter compared to the same period of the previous year and the previous quarter.
