In the office field, while sales volumes of monochrome units decreased year on year, sales of color units grew, mainly in the high-speed segment, and overall sales of A3 MFPs exceeded those of the previous year. In the previous term, profit declined due primarily to an inability to achieve cost-reduction plans and deterioration in the product mix, but we succeeded in our focus to expand sales of high-speed color units following a review of these issues this term.
In the production print field, overall sales volumes increased due to an increase in sales of color units even though sales volumes of monochrome units declined year on year, as with the office field.
As shown on the next page, sales of non-hardware grew steadily in both the office field and the production print field.
The tables show the rate of increase and decrease in sales on a year-on-year basis by region excluding the impact of exchange rates for both the office and production print fields but including M&As.
