We aim to expand our industrial optical systems business to ¥100 billion in fiscal year 2016. The sensing business will be a growth driver. Within that area, we aim to obtain GMA in the mobile, lighting, and automobile sectors using the synergy we obtain from the recently acquired IS. Our advantage will be in the light-source field. We aim to expand sensing business sales by ¥15 billion between fiscal years 2013 and 2016. Next is lenses and components. Up to now, we have put relatively greater emphasis on home information appliances. During this medium term business plan, we aim to shift our product configuration to put more emphasis on industrial and professional applications. With the high-profit area of projector lens units, we will concentrate management resources on large commercial projectors on top of digital cinema applications. We will likewise concentrate resources on interchangeable lenses for DSLR cameras. By so doing, we plan to expand sales by ¥13 billion between fiscal years 2013 and 2016. Finally, in new businesses using core optical and micromachining technologies, we aim to achieve sales of ¥5 billion in fiscal year 2016 on our way to ¥10 billion in five years' time. At present, we have launched three projects.
We plan to use the key policies described above to transform into a business structure with higher added value in these fields.
