Net sales to the automotive sector rose in Japan, the United States and China among other countries, while net sales to the medical-equipment industry advanced in the United Kingdom. As a result, net sales improved 10.0% YoY to ¥8,499 million, while segment income soared 78.1% to ¥332 million.

A contraction in net sales to the AV-device sector in Malaysia was more than offset by growth in net sales to the automotive and OA-device sectors in China and Vietnam. Net sales gained 2.4% YoY to reach ¥5,762 million, while segment income improved 12.0% to ¥167 million.
