Konica Minolta is engaging in the One KM approach. The synergy across our business portfolio, which is a strength of the Konica Minolta Group, produced the “IQ-501” (Intelligent Quality Optimizer). This product highlights the unique strengths of Konica Minolta and differentiates us from the competition, and it has been widely accepted by customers. This is a result of a collaboration with the measuring instruments business unit. Specifically, the color management technology from measuring instruments was incorporated into digital printing equipment. With its in-house sensing technology, only Konica Minolta has this kind of capability.
We have automated color adjustment, a function that up to now was dependent on the operator’s skill. In addition to reducing management costs, we have raised the utilization rate of printing devices, which is helping printing companies to resolve their business challenges. This unique type of value not found in other corporations is being well received by customers, as shown by the steadily increasing installation rate of the IQ-501.
This is not just a matter of color adjustment. We have found that automation of the position control function for printing paper is also well received on monochrome models, and we will be moving ahead with steps to differentiate our monochrome models and add higher value.
