Funabashi Electronics Co., Ltd., which possesses outstanding technology in super-deep-drawing of fine materials in the metal-pressing field, became a subsidiary of Advanex on April 1, 2014. By welcoming this company as a subsidiary of Advanex, the Company aims to expand its technological domain.
Drawing is a type of sheet-metal processing. In this process, pressure is applied to a single sheet of metal to form it into a tubular shape. The technology that Funabashi Electronics possesses can squeeze extremely thin materials into pipes.
Normally drawing results in pipes whose length is about three or four times the diameter. Deep drawing can produce pipes with a 10:1 ratio between length and diameter. However, using Funabashi Electronics' deep-drawing technology, it is possible to create pipes with a 30-40:1 ratio between length and diameter.
Moreover, this processing technology belongs to a domain in which Advanex is not currently active. By deploying Funabashi Electronics' drawing technology in Japan and in overseas locations such as China and Thailand, the Company can expect to expand its order book. Advanex also looks forward to achieving Group synergies, through mutual application of each other's casting technologies and machinery and by applying Advanex' strengths in sales and material procurement.
